Before you submit your application

    Complete the Basic Individual License Application.

    Applicant must submit proof of eligibility to apply for a license. Acceptable proofs include:
    - An original letter issued by DCWP indicating that the applicant is eligible to submit a General Vendor License Application
    - A proof of honorable discharge issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (such as an original statement of service OR original or member 4 copy of the DD Form 214, Discharge Papers, or Separation Documents)
    - Other official or government records confirming your status as a discharged veteran with a qualifying condition or a discharged LGBT veteran as stated above
    - A proof of marriage or domestic partnership (such as an original marriage certificate or Certificate of Domestic Partnership, joint lease or mortgage documents), an original death certificate, and a proof of honorable discharge (per above) if the applicant is a surviving spouse or domestic partner of a veteran.

    Applicants must submit a current color passport-size photograph of themselves. Note: Applicants can be photographed at the DCWP Licensing Center at no cost or upload their photo online.

    The business must provide their New York State Sales Tax Identification Number or Certificate of Authority Application Confirmation Number on the Basic License Application .

    Applicants must complete the General Vendor Questionnaire.

    Applicants must complete the General Vendor Residence Form.

    Applicants must submit a proof of home address, such as a utility bill, dated within the last 90 days (telephone, gas, electric, cable, or water); a current lease or deed; a current rent or mortgage bill; a driver's license; or if the applicant lives at another person's address, a letter signed by the leaseholder indicating that the applicant lives at the address and one proof of home address (as mentioned prior) with the leaseholder's name.

    If the applicant is a veteran with a service-related disability and would like to vend on a restricted street as described in §2-314 of Title 6 of the Rules of the City of New York, applicant must submit an original letter with a signature from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs confirming the service-related disability and a completed Specialized Vending License/Midtown Core Waiting List Application.

    If the applicant is not a New York City resident, applicant must complete a General Vendor Non-NYC Resident Form.

    Steps to apply online:

    Review the requirements for the license and gather all materials before clicking the Apply Online button. Note: You will be redirected to a new web page where you will need a registered account with the City of New York to submit an online application.

    After submitting an application online, print a copy of the Confirmation Page. The Confirmation Page will list the additional steps and materials required to complete the application. These materials are also listed above and must be submitted within five business days of filing the application online if they were not uploaded as part of the online application submission.
