Businesses that use radioactive materials need a license. This license comes from the New York State Department of Health (DOH). These materials can be used for business or science.

In New York State, all businesses using these materials need a Radioactive Materials License. In New York City, businesses also need a license from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).
